The detached garage was also converted to provide a wonderful treatment and training room which both tenants and staff can use. It now houses 5 young adults with learning difficulties and will assist these individuals to transition to long term independent living in a homely, safe and positive environment.
The scheme was officially opened by the local Mayor and has been praised by the families of the new tenants.
“Our new Heversham Road Unit has been refurbished with great care and considerable attention to detail towards creating a Safe Home, a Fresh Start and hopefully a Bright Future for our service users”
Henry Philips, Managing Director Index Care
However the existing RP had not maintained the property and it was in need of a major upgrade and refurbishment. Creed acquired the property, provided temporary accommodation for the current tenants whilst a major programme of works to renovate the property was delivered.
A new RP was also put in place to deliver a much improved service going forward.Using Creed's expertise and efficient processes we were able to carry out an 8 week build programme in under 6 weeks, allowing the tenants to move swiftly back into their hugely improved home. Both tenants, their families and Autism at Kingwood were all absolutely delighted with the outcome and the significant changes achieved.
The scheme has also brought praise from the LA, Oxford County Council. Further projects are now underway in partnership with the local authority and Autism at Kingwood.
"Creed’s approach meant that the impact on the tenants was truly minimised and the property went on to be adapted to meet their ongoing needs in a very short time frame."
Kate Allen, Chief Executive, Autism at Kingwood
