Specialised Supported Housing (SSH) flats in Wigan

Building Futures: 14 New SSH Flats in Wigan

October 03, 20251 min read

At Creed Housing, we are excited to share the progress of a recent project: 14 new Specialised Supported Housing (SSH) flats in Wigan. This development, created in partnership with our client and in close consultation with Wigan Council, is designed to provide homes for 14 vulnerable adults with autism and learning disabilities. These flats represent a safe and supportive environment where residents can live independently while receiving the care and assistance they need.

One of the key highlights of this project is the financial security provided by a void agreement from the local authority. This agreement underwrites the rent for 15 years, giving us and our partners the assurance of a long-term commitment. The total lease term for this arrangement is 25 years, with a Registered Provider (RP) – a trusted housing association – managing the flats. The agreement ensures a sustainable future for both the residents and the broader community, creating a lasting impact through high-quality housing.

Incorporating the latest design and construction techniques, these flats are being built to meet the specific needs of the residents. From accessibility features to carefully considered layouts, every element of the build is tailored to promote independence and comfort. We are committed to delivering homes that not only provide physical shelter but also foster well-being and security.

We will be sharing more updates as the build progresses, so stay tuned for the latest photos, CGI renders and construction milestones. This project stands as a testament to Creed Housing’s dedication to delivering sustainable, community-focused housing solutions for vulnerable individuals.
